Abstract [en]

Getinge AB has since the early 1990:s a product-register based on an Approach database. Our task was to design a relational database in SQL Server 7, a program to convert the existing product-register and a new web-based user-interface. The system must support searches for delivered equipment with a specific configuration. The SQL-database must handle the existing product-register as well as orders to be registered in the future. The conversion program is designed in Visual Basic (VB). We choose to design the user-interface using Active Server Pages (ASP) and VB-script, and split it into an administration-part and a user-part. The administrator can insert and delete a user, insert or update records, and delete an order. An authorised user can change his password, register a new order, update an order or make a search. The search routine itself is open to everyone in the company.
