The object of this bachelor degree project is to exchange data information (personal information) between the application MagnaCura developed by Pulsen Application and Novell’s directory of service eDirectory. The motivation of this project is a by Pulsen Application developed project named Pulsen Optimal Portal (POP). POP is a web portal where users with different level of access in eDirectory are given the right to different applications, systems and printers. Straightforward eDirectory offers the possibility to give users different level of access by the information from MagnaCura. Pulsen Integration integrates different systems with different directories of service, in particular with Novell’s directory of service eDirectory. For each new application that should be integrated with eDirectory a program (driver) is needed to perform the communication between the application and the directory of service. The encrypted communication over TCP/IP with the dirXML interface of eDirectory is handled by the by Pulsen developed program UDS (Universal Directory-service Synchronization). The project has been to develop a driver for the integration of MagnaCura and eDirectory along with a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to control the driver’s startup parameters. The driver is a C++ developed NTService. The project has resulted in a complete working product according to the tests performed during the development.
