Talangutveckling i svenska elitfotbollsklubbar
Halmstad University, School of Social and Health Sciences (HOS).
2002 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis
Abstract [sv]
The purpose of this study was to examine how Swedish elite football clubs work with talent development, compare these result with the Swedish Football Associations criteria for economical support and also try to explain what the trainers put in to the concept of talent. A total of nine trainers in three clubs were interviewed, each club was represented with a senior trainer, junior trainer and a development trainer. The interview contained questions regarding the concept of talent the trainers perception of how the club works with the development of talent. The results revealed that the immediate perception of talent was accredited to the physical atributes such as ball technique and physical strength while the informants after some time to think answered that the most important attribute for a talent was his motivation and interest in the sport. The trainers all felt that one of their most important tasks as leaders was to create an environment for the talents that is positive and stimulating. The demands that the trainers have on their players can be considered reasonable since their biggest, and sometimes only, demand is that the players always try their best and gives 100 percent in every situation in both practice and games. The results of this indicates that the problems shown in studies made five to eight years ago have been brought to the clubs attention and solutions are being implemented in the players everyday training.
