Abstract [sv]
The purpose of this study was to examine if and how nine school in the south of Sweden work to prevent teacher´ stress. The purpose was also to examine what obstacles the schools find for not working with coping. The method used was qualitative and ten interviews were made. Nine of persons in the study worked at the schools and one person worked at a company health service. The study showed that there was a problem with stressed teachers in the schools, but non of the schools worked with a specific coping strategy. All the schools had indirect ways to work with stress. Some of the indirect strategies were communication, support and exercise. When teachers had problems that could be solved within the schools the teachers contacted the company health service. The obstacles that the schools experienced for not working to prevent teacherstress were time, financial resources and knowledge about coping. Even if there was a problem with teachersstress, the need to use coping strategies was not that big. The reason may be that the indirect strategies that were used enough to reduce the taeachers´ stress.
