Abstract [sv]
National Gummi AB has given us the assignment to find a possible solution where non-touching sensors can be integrated with rubber seals. In busses and trains the doors can cause severe damages when people get pinched between them. To eliminate these damages a more secure system has to be developed. We have found a solution in capacitive sensors, embedded in rubber profiles we have developed a non-touching sensor. A non-touching sensor where you do not have to touch the door seal before the sensors detect you. Our capacitive sensor consists of capacitors which can sense most materials with different dielectric constant than air. There are several companies, both in Sweden and abroad, that are into the idea of using capacitive sensors. The companies we have been in contact with are interested in cooperating with National Gummi AB in this matter. The assignment has been implemented and tested in a prototype.
