Abstract [sv]
Based on an old PLC-system that is controlling 3 DC-motors, we will change the motors to something more modern and less maintenance demanding. Our choices were between servo; stepmotor or frequency controlled motors. One of our requirements is the feedback of position and speed. The only system that can support this is the servosystem. In the servosystem we have to decide which type of motor we shall use. The two types of motors we can use are AC-servomotor or asynchronousmotor. The best for this system is asynchronousmotor. This motor is robust and reliable in running. In the PLC-system we just have to make some adjustment to provide the function of the new system. The drawing was made in an old system that has no support and no connection to the rest of Pilkingtons drawings. We changed it to the new El-CAD standard that Pilkington uses. We have, after this changes, a system that is reliable in running and with the modern Profibus interface. We have also made the drawings up to date to the new standard and to the new system requirements.
