Abstract [sv]
The Quickstepper regulator is an analogue regulating device, primarly used in the process industry. An unique ability allows the Quickstepper to be manoeuvred manually, even in the case of a failure in the powersupply or controlsignals. The idea with this project is to redesign the Quickstepper regulator to be compatible with the PROFIBUS-PA fieldbus. We were to fulfil this task with the help of modern technology such as microprocessor and fieldbusadapter. In the future, the Quickstepper will function as a PROFIBUS-PA slave-unit, in a PROFIBUS-DP-network with one master-unit and as much as 63 other slave-units.
