Abstract [sv]

Abstract The purpose of this degree project is to raise profitability and efficiency at one of the production lines at Trensums Food AB in Tingsryd, Sweden. The purpose is also to improve the working environment for the employees. To solve this, we have decided to construct an automatic packaging machine. The project team has developed a functional prototype that folds trays of corrugated cardboard. Solutions of filling these trays have also been generated and tested in modules. At a full-scale implementation of our solutions, Trensums is able to save around 160.000 Swedish crowns a year. These savings are equivalent to seven Swedish öre for each tetra pack that is produced. All risks for occupational injuries are also eliminated.
