Abstract [sv]
The purpose of this study was to describe college students body image. The investigated group were a selection of 120 students, 57 men and 63 woman, from two different schools. The collection of data were made through questionaires. The result showed that a majority of the students thought that their appearance was important to them. Most of the men wanted to be more muscular and half of the woman wanted to be thinner. Men believed that women preferred bulkier shapes in the opposite sex than the women actually did. And women thought that men wanted thinner women than they actually did. The students body image were affected by media and advertising.
