Abstract [sv]
Based on Carron´s (1982) Conceptual Model and Chelladurai and Carron´s (1978) Multidimensioal Model of Sport Leaderhip (MML), this study examined the relationship between perceived coaching behaviours and perceived team cohesion among floor ball players (N=83). The athletes completed the version of the Leadership Scale for Sports (LSS) where the athletes describes the perceived leadership behaviour and the Group Environment Questionnaire (GEQ). Correlation analyses revealed a significant relationsship between coaching beahviours and team cohesion. Coaches who perceived was engaged in higher levels of social support, training an instruction, positive feedback and democratic style were associated with higher levels of social cohesion within their team. Task cohesion only correlated with social support. An ANOVA-test indicated that there were no significant difference between genders, but showed significant difference competition levels in their perceptions of coaching bahaviours and team cohesion.
