Abstract [sv]
This study is dealing with questions about the coach and his possibilities to influence his team. The six interviewed coaches are all working with team-sports in a very complex and dynamic environment. The purpose of study is to find out what the coaches think of themselves when they are in the coaching role. The study will also make an attempt to describe what the coaches think of leadership in general and what parts of the coaching role are the most important if you are going for gold. The main result show that four different categories could be sighted: Leaderstyle, Situational Leadership, Relations and Traits. These four dimensions are all important, but what´s most amazing is how much the coaches think of their players as individuals. They believe that the key to succes in team-sports is well educated individuals. In general they believe that the coach´s influence on their team is strong if you pull the strings at the right time. They also mean that the coaching impact during a match is stronger in ice-hockey and handball, than in soccer (European Football).
