Abstract [sv]

The project has been performed in cooperation with Volvo Truck Corporation, in Gothenburg. The assignment was to fill the ISO-compartment on a FH- or a FM-truck with an accessory. The result is a system combining two different functions, a backing function and an overtaking function. The backing function uses ultra sound to measure the distance to an obstacle behind the truck. The distance is presented in the cockpit. The overtaking function uses a PIR-sensor to detect the vehicle to be overtaken, a signal is sent to the driver telling him he is past the vehicle.
