Abstract [en]

This study compares the knowledge of English of two groups of students, one Swedish monolingual and the other Swedish-Finnish bilingual, concentrating on transfer errors and where these errors might originate. The grammatical areas examined are subject-verb concord, articles,and relative and interrogative pronouns. The method used is Error Analysis. Not many differences were found between the groups. However, the Finnish informants do seem to have had some positive use of their native language, especially in the area of pronouns.
