Abstract [sv]

The editorials are one of the classical moulders of public opinion, and today they´re working on a field that has passed through major changes. The climate of the public opinion has got tougher and it´s been even harder for moulders of public opinion to make their voice heard. Furthermore the party press is belived to have lost its importance due to the decline of the traditional party system. This essay is meant to map how two local morning newspapers acted as moulders of public opinion during the year 2000. With a content analysis as a point of departure a comparision is done, with the aim to find similarities and dissimilarities between the papers. The results of essay show that the editorials in low extent are moulding the public opinion on the local or regional level. Most of the editorials are based at the national level, and a proportionately high share is based on the international level. The papers are strongly addicted to party loyalty. It´s also abvious that the´re focusing a lot on the scrutinising of the government party, the Social Democrats. To a high extent the editorials are discussing the parites from a general point of view, without mentioning any specific politiacal area of expertise.
