Abstract [en]
In today’s economies it has been proven that the small businesses play a crucial role. The small businesses vitalize the economy in a number of ways. Therefore is the survival of the small businesses an important topic. The lack of finance for small businesses in relation to the financial gap has been well researched. The history of research of the financial gap has mainly been focusing on the supply side restrictions and not until recent years have the demand side been acknowledged. An area of acknowledges is the lifecycle of the businesses. This area recognizes a connection between the lifecycle of the business and the differentiation of finance at the different stages of the lifecycle. Against this background we aim with our study to examine the possibilities, the preferences as well as the capital structure of small businesses in Sweden in relation to the lifecycle stages the businesses is experiencing.
