Abstract [sv]
This report discusses the risks of electromagnetic interference that could be involved with the introduction of Bluetooth technology in a hospital environment. Current and future EMC guidelines are brought to light and also the results of a field test that was performed in a hospital on sensitive medical equipment. In those cases where interference was encountered, recommendations are made to minimize the risk of it occurring in use. Results from electromagnetic compatibility study’s made with a similar technology called DECT are included to show which medical equipment could be vulnerable to radiation from Bluetooth and which precautions they recommend. A possible future Bluetooth healthcare application was constructed and designed which is described.
