Abstract [sv]
The purpose with this exam project has been to further develop a system for blood analysis. All functions are controlled of a PC configured with Windows NT. Collection of the pictures, analysis and classification is fairly time-consuming. Because of that, we did a study in order to examine which operating system that was suitable, and on which way the system would be split in order to increase the efficiency. Since the market for digital products is increasing we did an investigation of the possibility to use a digital camera with Firewire interface. The operating system on the computer remains Windows NT while the distributed part is configured with Qnx Neutrino. To this operating system there are no existing hardware-drivers to communicate with a Firewire card. Because of this we moved our efforts to investigate how and if it was feasible to write a hardware-driver and an application for the camera.
