Abstract [sv]
We think that common day ergonomics is an important area to develop future products, therefore we have chosen to look at the ergonomics of shoppingtrollies. Today´s trolleys are hard to manoeuvre, load and unload. This leads to problems with the neck, shoulders and wrists. Customers often use a shopping basket which is easily overloaded, this leads to stress on the human body. After observing and brainstorming, we chose to focus on something inbetween basket and trolley. We used EMG (elektromyografy) to register muscle activity. We performed the measurement on a standard trolley and on one with a lower handle, to see if there were any measurable differences in favour of the lower handle trolley. The result was the base for our prototype. The prototype measures about 60 litres and compare to a standard trolley, the handle is lowered with 9 centimetres. Our trolley is primarily targeted for the older generation or person with functional disorders but also for those who overload their basket.
