Abstract [sv]
Innovating companies are well aware of that they cannot be creative and effective within the same organization. For generations have companies tried to separate there new business initiatives with the help of so called Internal Corporate Venturing (ICV) programs. This have led to relatively poor results. In this thesis the authors have aimed to understand factors that critically effects the organizing of ICV programs. A study has been done at Ericsson in their attempt to create new core businesses through a ICV program, called Ericsson Business Innovation. Dependent on whether the motive is primarily to create new core businesses or to capitalize on new ventures, a crucial factor is to build a structure that supports this decision. Finally, the authors consider an ICV program to be a valuable tool for companies in their creation of an internal market free to compete for resources; talent, ideas and capital.
