Abstract [en]
The following study will examine the processes that involved in learning and remembering information. Focus is placed on the difference between remembering details and comprehension. 86 subjects read an ambigous text that could be interpreted both as describing a hunt or an escape. Half of the subjects listened to music while reading the text. The music were used to produce the experienced during an escape. 35 of subjects were tested two times - directly after presentation of text and one week later. Results show that directly after receiving information we remember a lot of details but one week later we remember details poorly. Listenign to music did influence the results. “Escape” music influenced subjects to interpret the ambigous text as describing an escape. The result is explained using schema theory and Estes dual trace theory. Music produced a reaction that influnced subjects to interpret the text differently than those who did not listen to music
