Abstract [sv]
The aim this study is to describe and analyze differerent opinions of the subject physical education. Part of the aim is to describe how PH teachers think about their roles and what kind of education they think subject gives. The method that have been used is a qualitative interview. The number of persons who participated in the study was five, all PH teachers in Halmstad. Earlier research has come to the conclusion that the physical education has lot of different goals to achieve. Though is there a lot of opinions among the teachers about the education they give students. Aspects of the didacticts questions are used as theory and also is there a presentation of the curriculums since 1969. The result show three different categories of the type of education that physical education gives: knowledge which is specific for the subject, lifelong knowledge and knowledge that is connected with other subjects. The roles that the teachers thought they had were: discover, traditional role of teaching, role of morality, role of confidence and the not traditional role of teaching. The conclusion is that teacher in the study know what they teach and that they have an opinion, or more, about the kind of education physical education gives.
