Abstract [en]

The goal with the project is that, with consideration taken to IKEA's demands concerning design, functionality and safety construct a new folding-table. The tables that exist today all have disadvantages that we should remove in the new product. The three most important demands are that the table should be able to stand without support when folded, be stable and have no or very few risks for squeezing your self. We generated a number of valuable ideas and with the help of them generated two table suggestions. Those suggestions where handed over to IKEA for final decision of which table to develop further. The chosen suggestion where then developed into a complete product and a prototype was made. This prototype will undergo a series of tests at IKEA to control that all demands are saturated.
