Abstract [sv]

This report describes the work that has been done to develop a ski-rental system. The system is to be used by a company witch runs a skishop in Sälenfjällen, Sweden. The owner of the shop wants a system that helps him to organise his work with rentals. This includes writing rental contracts, showing statistics and saving or retrieving information about rentals, equipment and customers. To solve this task we have developed a database in Microsoft Access 97 and a powerful application developed in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0. The database contains all necessary information and is called upon with SQL-questions. The application is dynamic, easy to work with and resembles the Windows environment. It is used to retrieve or fill the database with information about customers, equipment, maintenance and of course rentals.
