Abstract [en]

The object of the thesis was to study how the logistical chain of components could be intensifiend. More specifically,the research was of components that are supplied and then sold forward to the other factories in the KCI Corporation. The problem was analyzed by means of a combination of qualitative and quantitative research. It was also called as an action research.The theoretical framework was based on Porter's value chain model and key concepts were found in areas of supply chain management, added value nad time based management. The goal of the empirial part was to find reasons for late deliveries, to define operations related to these specific componets and to define actions that cuold intensify the chain of components.
