Abstract [sv]
The main goal of this project is to design a digital audio player. The storage media to be used is portable flash-cards. The field of application is primary in the health care. For example the audio player can be used in intelligent living for persons who are suffering from senile dementia or brain damage. Another example is rooms of experience for mentally handicapped persons. The audio player must have good sound quality to be able to store and reproduce both speech and music. According to the specification the maximum frequency to reproduce is 0.1-10 kHz. Four sounds can be stored in the memory and will be played when one of the four phone plugs activates. Sounds lasting at least 30 seconds can be stored in the memory, depending on quality and size of memory. The audio player is powered with a battery and therefore all components need a minimum of energy.
