Abstract [sv]
Our project has been developed in co-operation with Ericsson Software Technology in Karlskrona. Ericsson's testdepartment T/TT that we been working for main function is to test new written protocols. To test the protocols they need a program called SCS. SCS is written for UNIX and has been used for many years. Now Ericsson got an inquiry from their customers about making SCS work with Windows NT. Ericsson had year 1998 a thesis worker that researched in how to solve this problem. This prework lead to our thesis project that is about fulfilling the demands from the customers. The project includes porting as much of SCS as possible from UNIX to Windows NT and to write a portable graphical user interface for SCS. We choose to write the graphical user interface in Java since it should be plattformindependent. Compilers, UNIX shells and add-on libraries that we used for porting the applications were taken from Cygnus.
