Abstract [sv]
This project contains of building a pH-meter. The probe is made of an ISFET-sensor, from Sentron. ISFET is an abbreviation for, Ion Sensitive Field Effect Transistor. The ISFET-sensor operates similar to a MOS-transistor. The main difference between the two, is that the metal-film on the gate of the MOS-transistor is removed. The gate will now work as a window towards hydrogene-ions. Since pH depends on the concentration of hydrgene-ions, a pH-sensor now is made. To make the the sensor more sensitive towards hydrogene-ions the gate is coated with a hydrogene-selective-material. In the main construction a microprocessor, PIC16C74A is used for calculations, and as a control unit. Examples of things that are controlled by the processor are AD-conversion, LCD-display and a built in memory function. The memory function is meant to be used for saving pH-values during a laboration. The PIC16C74A is programmed with development tools from MicroChip.
