Abstract [en]

This dissertation takes the basis in a research problem of high costs for introducing a environmental management system in small businesses and the difficulties for them to find long-term external finance. The empirical and theoretical problems stem from a lack of theories describing and explaining how small business managers finance specific resources, especially an environmental management system. An environmental management system is categorised as an intangible resourse as it involves know-how and legitimacy resources such as knowledge, practises, experiences, processes etc.
