Abstract [en]
The study is focused on companies that licenses out some kind of manufactured technical product, which is patented. What patents and licensing is descibed, recognising the differant strategies fo licensing,as well as the pros and cons of licensing. This includes aspects such as that licensing is a good option when the resources to enter foreign markets with direct investments, e.g. joint ventures and subsidiaries. Licensing also presents a good return relative to invested resources, even though direct export usually provides higher total profit.
