Abstract [sv]
Project Whelle Power consists of an inventory of the Flywheel Energy Storage technology and a survey of existing systems and problems. Electromechanical flywheel batteries have a higher power density than existing chemical batteries. The may also have a higher energy density. This makes them suitable for applications involving quick boots of power and high energy density, such as vehicle acceleration, regenerative braking, peak power reduction and uninterruptable power supplies (UPS).
