Abstract [en]
In the industry today there are many different kinds of protocols. To allow all the protocols to be supported by the manufacturers you need some kind of converter or interface. This was the thought behind the Anybus conceptbehind the trademark Anybus, Hassbjer Micro Systems (HMS), needed to support the Modbus RTU protocol in their Anybus product line. This led to an examination project in computer systems engineering at Halmstad University. The reulting product was a datatransfer module, converting between the protocol Modbus and the HMS stadard Anybus. The interface should act as a slave in a system and should be able to handel the most common functions in the Modbus protocol. This product will be included in the Hassbjer Micro Systems product line and will probably be sold to companies in USA and Europe.
