Project P-Net, a fieldbus communications module between P-Net and AnyBus
Halmstad University, School of Business and Engineering (SET).
1997 (English)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor)Student thesis
Abstract [en]
The goal was to create an interface between P-Net and AnyBus. The project was commissioned by Hassbjer Micro Systems AB (HMS) in Halmstad. P-Net is a fieldbus and can be described as a way of organising several control and data signals into only two or three wires. There are a multitude of different fieldbus protocols all with different advantages and areas of application. AnyBus is an attempt, by HMS, to standardise fieldbus communication. The thought behind AnyBus is that a manufacturer should not be bound to a certain fieldbus. Instead AnyBus is supported and the customer has the choice of what fieldbus to utilise. The module design incorporates a Hitachi H8/3002 (microcontroller) and is programmed in ANSI-C.
