Abstract [sv]
The purpose of the final thesis Remote PIXE is to control a patricle accelerator via Internet, in order to enhande the availability of the PIXE-equipment and give students in school located far from Lund a chance to explore elementary-particle physice. The particle accelerator i physically located at the Department of Nuclear physics at LTH and is used for determining the quantity of integral element in a sample. This is done by placing the sample in front of a proton ray and measuring the emitted x-ray radiation. A final thesis in Lund regarding a website with a Java application has been performed earlier. This enables the user to control the particle accelerator via the Internet. Remote PIXE enables communication between the computer that controlls the particle accelerator and the website with the Java application.
