Abstract [en]
This Master thesis is about a new microscopy method called PPM - Particle Probe Microscopy. This microscopy method uses a small magnetic particle as a probe to examine objects in a colloidal sample. The purpose of the project is to be able to move a small magnetic particle with magnetic fields in fluid. The movements of the particle can be controlled by magnetic fields. The magnetic fields are created by four coils, wich are attached to the objective of an ordinary microscope. A CCD-camer mounted on the microscope provides an image of the fluid sample. An image analysis program provides necessary data to keep track of the particle when it tis moving. We have built up a working prototype for this microscopy method.
