Abstract [en]
This study is created out of the quest for a better understanding of economic evaluation methods. In the dynamic process fo change we constantly meet the challenges of paradoxes. Maximal product variation, in order to satisfy individual needs, as well as minimal employment of resources through standardisation is often a difficult combination. The study focuses on the situation of a product data management investment at Volvo Cars, viewed form a holistic business perspective. The overall aim om this study is to enable an increased understanding of economic evaluation methods and the evaluation of complex investments in general and investments in enterprise wide IS/IT-solutions in particular.
