The valuation of merging companies: a strategis investment appraisal approach
Halmstad University, School of Business and Engineering (SET).
1996 (English)Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year))Student thesis
Abstract [en]
The purpose of this dissertation is to describe how merging companies are valued considering the need to incorporate both financial analysis and strategic analysis. From these research problrm, three important sub-objectives of the study has been identified; - To describe and analyse the close interdependence between corporate stategy and the valutation and analysis phase of the merger process. - To describe the methods and the models that are often applied in large and complex investment appraisals, such as mergers and acquisitions. - To describe and analyse the constraints in the environment, in the merger process itself and in the chosen analytical models and methods that tend to partly separate practise from theory.
