JIT, dvs Just In Time har definierats som “en filosofi inriktad mot att eliminera allt onödigt där allt onödigt är sådant som adderar kostnader min inte värde till en produkt”. Principerna i JIT innefattar hela företaget med dess omgivning och inte endast produktion.
