Abstract
The purpose of this pilot study was to test and evaluate two similar diets that are founded on metabolic typing and low carbohydrate high fat. In this study 30 women who were physically active (not elite) participated. 27 women completed the study. The method that was used was the measurement of weight and circumference around the waist, arm and thigh. Also a diary and a VAS-scale were used to get a deeper understanding of how the women felt during the test period. The authors wanted to find out if these two diets helped women in matters of weight reduction, self experienced level of energy and metabolism. The authors also wanted to lighten strengths and weaknesses with the diets and the Swedish nutrition recommendations (SNR). The results showed a significant difference between the diets and the measurements. From the VAS-scale the authors were able to see improvement in level of energy and digestion during the test period. Quotations are displayed from the diaries.
