Abstract [en]

In a rapidly growing world where everything is happening faster, our roads used for transport have become increasingly important. With 70% of the worlds surface covered in water there is an opportunity to expand our way off transport via the water. We found a way to take a part of the vehicle traffic from land to water and doing it in a environmentally smart way through forward thinking technology and new innovations. A big issue in cities with many waterways is that there is seldom a way to quickly get to the other side of the water where there are no bridges. 

The purpose is to bring forth a shuttle concept with a working prototype which is scaled down and to drive on water and be capable to be used as a test-platform. There is a few concepts that can be tested in smaller scale before implementation  

The project group’s results are a test platform in scale 1:8 with modular thinking, this platform will be used in multiple purposes. 

One can exchange and test different modules and ideas. This gives the opportunity to quickly concept-develop early in the project before the full-scale model in many ways: 

 

•The test platform gives the opportunity to testmanoeuvrability from different perspectives, stabilitywith different loads and modules, how the stability isaffected by different conditions like strong current andpowerful waves etcetera.

•The test platform will be used to test the software thatwill be needed for the end vehicle.

•The test platform will also be used in marketingpurposes to show the concept and create interest in aearly stage.

These are some of the opportunities.
