Abstract [en]

The term digital forensics was first coined as a synonym for computer forensics. Since then, it hasexpanded to cover the investigation of any device capable of storing digital data. Although the firstcomputer crime was reported in 1978, followed by the Florida Computer Act, it did not become anaccepted term until the 1990s. National policies on digital forensics emerged only in the early 21stcentury.The growth of digital technology has both positive and negative effects. Virus attacks and cyber crimesare increasing with the advancement of computer technology. Understand the term digital forensics andits relation to malware/ransomware. It is a branch of forensic science that focuses on the recovery andinvestigation of material found on digital devices related to cyber crime. Everyday malware is spreadingthrough the network like wildfire. We also know that all processes performed in a digital system must atsome point operate in memory.Memory analysis techniques retrieve artifacts to analyze inappropriate behaviors. Collecting, analyzingand presenting data from various devices for each crime takes a long time, as the number of devices andthe amount of data is constantly growing, adding to the backlog of devices to test and analyze. Thismalware research and analysis may help prevent further infections and improve system security.
