Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This project involves digitizing an educational electric motor by adding newfeatures, such as counting the revolutions per minute and electronic speedcontrol and repairing the existing solenoid motor. The project owner is thenon-profit association Science Safari, which uses the motor in itseducational work to spread the interest in science and technology.Developing hardware to enable the desired additional functions to thesolenoid motor was an objective of the project. Hardware has beendeveloped that handles power supply, speed control and a sensor module forcounting the revolutions per minute. Due to mechanical failures of thesolenoid motor, it was not possible to fully repair the solenoid motor. The project resulted in working hardware that has been simulated andtested. The conclusion is that the work has partially met the requirements ofthe project owner.
