With the advancement of digital services and technology, car sharing now provides a viable alternative to traditional car ownership with the goal to reduce the impact of private car transport on both the environment and society. The car sharing service of Lynk & Co, an emerging embedded peer-to-peer car sharing service, provides a promising approach to private car transport, but its usability for its users has yet to be proven. To investigate the perceived usability of this service, a mapping of the experience ecosystem according to the PLR-syntax has been conducted, showing highly streamlined paths for the actors of the ecosystem, especially for the lenders. Qualitative data collected in interviews with current users show that they endorse the embeddedness of the service in the system architecture of the car, though the perceived usability of the car sharing service itself is low due to a lack of borrowers, the technical state of the service, and the demand for supportive features. It is proposed to continue research on this use case to overcome limitations of the study, for example the lack of borrower and female participants.
