Abstract [en]

With the 3D printing, a kind of additive manufacturing (AM) technology,development recent years, the manufacturing companies focus on their research on this technology applied into their product or producing process. The quality and the cost are concerned by the manufacturing companies. Thus, the methods and the cost of the quality control fixture are worth researching, which matters all products. In this thesis project, the report discussed the 3D printing techniques from both theory and application, and the cost for 3D printing as well. Besides, the different 3D printing approaches comparison and cost calculation are presented with a conclusion that summarised the benefits and impacts on 3D printing application for the researched manufacturing company in this project at the end.
