Abstract [sv]

Kriminalitet bland ungdomar är ett förekommande problem i dagens samhälle. Denna uppsats redogör för vilka motiv som lett åtta före detta kriminella män från Vivalla i Örebro till en kriminell livsstil. Undersökningen har grundat sig på vilka motiv som fått männen att välja en kriminell livsstil samt vilka sociala konsekvenser som uppkommit. Uppsatsen grundar sig på en kvalitativ ansats och empiri har samlats med hjälp av semistrukturerade djupintervjuer. Teorier som använts för analys av insamlad empiri är sociala band av Thomas Scheff, sociala band av Hirschi samt anomi av Emile Durkheim. Motiv som framkommit är bland annat bristande sociala band, sämre livsvillkor, sämre ekonomiska förutsättningar samt boendesegregation. Studien har genomförts med hjälp av en kvalitativ metod som bestått av åtta intervjuer med män som tidigare haft en kriminell bakgrund.

Abstract [en]

The crime rate continues to grow in our society. This paper document will show you why eight ex-criminals lived and had a criminal life style. This study has also been based on which motives that led these men to choose a criminal lifestyle as well as what social consequences have arisen. The study is based on a qualitative approach and empirical data have been gathered with the help of semi-structured in-depth interviews. Theories used for analusis of collected empirics are social ties by Thomas Scheff, social ties by Travis Hirschi and anomie by Emile Durkheim. Motives that has been emerged among other things is a lack of social ties, poorer living conditions when it comes to finances and resident’s segregation.
