This essay focuses on answering the questions; ”How does teachers resonate about computer games as an educational tool” and ”Which meaningful themes can be identified from the teachers reasoning?”
To answer these questions I have intervjued four teachers about their perspective and thoughts about computer games as an educational tool. I have then analysed their answers to find meaningful themes within their reasoning. The results and conclusions to the research questions where that teachers resonate different depending on if they have professionals expires with using computer games or not. The teachers whom had used computer games were more open and positiv about the gainings and profits of using games. And the teachers whom had not used computer games where more apprehensive and saw more negativs. But all of the teachers agreed on that cognitive abilities like problem solving and student motivation and interest could improve by using computer games in school. The themes that were most meaningful was that grading was portraid like a scapegoat, the teachers hade a vision that grading would be difficult or impossible and therefor did they not want to try using computer games. Another theme were that technology was seen as a problem and an obstacle. Time as a resource that could not be traded away was also a meaningful theme because many of the teachers spoke about computer games taking much time and in a way that implemented that they did not have the time or the knowledge to learn a new study material.
