Abstract [sv]

SammanfattningBakgrund: Avancerad sjukvård i hemmet innefattar till största delen patienter i ettpalliativt skede, som vid till exempel amyotrofisk lateralskleros. Syfte: Syftet var attbelysa patienter med amyotrofisk lateralskleros erfarenheter av avancerad sjukvård ihemmet. Metod: Metoden som valdes till studien var en integrativ litteraturstudie därartikelsökningar gjordes i sex databaser inom vård och medicin samt en manuellsökning. Dataanalysen gjordes enligt Whittemore och Knalfs fyra processteg.Resultat: Resultatet av studien är baserad på 21 vetenskapliga artiklar och redovisas itre kategorier och sex underkategorier. Patienter med amyotrofisk lateralskleroserfarenhet av avancerad sjukvård i hemmet var att de kände trygghet och stöd ivardagen från den professionella vården och från anhöriga. Multiprofessionella teamrunt patienten medförde kontinuerlig och anpassad symtomlindring och minskade defysiska och psykiska symtomen. Genom delaktighet och självbestämmande gav dettautrymme för patienten att känna meningsfullhet och autonomi i nuet. Implikation: Iframtiden spås en ökning av avancerad sjukvård i hemmet. Därför rekommenderasytterligare forskning inom området och om patienternas erfarenheter av detta.

Abstract [en]

AbstractBackground: Advanced medical care in the home, covers mainly patients inpalliative care for example Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Aim: The purpose of thestudy was to focus on the experience of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosisregarding advanced home care. Method: The method for the research was anintegrated literature study where articles searches and manual searches were made insix databases covering medicine and medical care. The data analysis was performedaccording to Whittemore and Knalfs four step process. Results: The study is based on21 scientific articles and reported in three categories and six sub-categories. Patients’with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis experience of advanced medical care in the homewas that they felt security and support in their everyday life from the professional caregiven by their family and friends. Multi professional teams around the patient createdcontinuous and customized symptoms relief and eased the physical and mentalsymptoms. Involvement and self-determination brought purpose and autonomy in thepatients’ daily life. Implication: In the future, an increase of advanced home care isto be expected, hence further research is recommended in the field and the patientsexperience thereof.
