Abstract [en]

The intention with this study was to study how the staff at a male-dominated workplace percive their employeeship, and also how what according to the staff contributes to a attractive- and healthpromotive workplace. The method for the study was of a qualitative approach with a focus on interviews. For the study nine semi-structured interviews were performed at a male-dominated workplace in Sweden, in which the interviewees were from three different departments of the leisure unit in a commune. The result for the study shows among other things that the staff viewed their employeeship as their own responsibility and that it was a contibuting factor for a attractive- and healthpromotive workplace. Furthermore there was also some uncertianties around the concept of what a health promotive workplace is and that there was different views amongst men and women regarding working at a male- dominated workplace. There was also different views amongst men and women regarding workning with the opposite sex. The conclusion for this study shows that employeeship for the involves fellowship and cooperation between coworkers but also that the employees have a responsibility of their own to contribute to an attractive and healthpromotive workplace. That learning and competence development happens between coworkers, rather that through training and courses.
