Autobiografisk jämförelse av Sylvia Plath eget liv och hur detta avspeglar sig ihennes enda bok "THe Bell Jar" och i ett litet urval av hennes dikter. Dikterna omfattar ungdomsverk samt sträcker sig fram till hennes Ariel-poesi skriven de sista månaderna av hennes liv. Huvudtemat har varit hennes roll som kvinna.
