Abstract [en]

In the world population it has been found that 2-4 percent lives with fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is living with a chronic pain that moves around in the body. The research of today demonstrates that the pain signals are misconceived by the brain and does not necessarily mean that the pain is located on the spot where it seems to be pain which leads to extreme pressure sensitivity on the skin. To live with pressure sensitivity makes it hard to for instance walk in a pair of high heels and according to research done in this project, some said that walking in high heels is an impossibility.

Around 22 percent of the participants in this project experience it mentally difficult not to be able to walk in a pair of high heels and about 50 percent think that it is only sad to not have the opportunity of wearing high heels anymore. The numbers represent a survey that was performed in this project where 387 women between 15-50 years old that lives with fibromyalgia participated.

The project treats a production development process of a high heel shoe that is adapted around the requirements that were stated by the same 387 women that participated. The high heel has been constructed from the ground-up that features a unique front with a soft and stress-relieving material combination that is attached together with a more stable and firm middle section and the end part is completed with a springy heel. The heel is made to prevent shockwaves up the body while walking. The bottom sole is moveable by joint attachment to pressure-relief the foot while it is following the natural movement of the foot. The seal is also pressure-relieving because of its own material composition.
