Abstract [sv]
Today’s modern industry of machine production gets more and more spread worldwide. At the same time so are the products/machines. This could lead to problems when/if a product/machine stop working (for some reason). Then the producer has to send a technician to the customer for problem solving. For the producer this is both expensive and time consuming. If the producer had used (connected their products to the Internet) the Internet for their products, they could have used other methods for the problem solving. When you connect the product to the Internet you get the opportunity to talk to the machines all over the world. In that way you can supervise and steer machines around the world from one place. You can collect statistics from your machine and through that information develope better machine. You get better service for less cost. This degree project is made for Styrteknik Europe AB in Helsingborg who develops and manufactures industrial sewing machines and automatic systems, for sewing circles and cross seams in cushions, mattresses, pads, other filled materials and products. Their machines are sold worldwide. Our project has therefore focused on solutions to their products. The machines PLC are made by Beckhoff or Hitachi. Together with the company management we have chosen to concentrate on supervision of the PLC from Beckhoff. This degree rapport purpose is to show how we have developed a system for Styrteknik, whose task is to supervise a machine. The system contains one application who supervises the machine and this information is transferred over Internet to a database. Finally a homepage publishes the information from the machine.
